We all know the magical tale of that grumpy green creature, and how his heart grew three sizes. But less widely shared is the story of the aftermath. What really happens when the cave-dwelling hermit who hated Whoville tries to embrace it with all its flaws? And how forgiving can those silly Whos really be to the guy who robbed all of them blind? Join me on this interactive journey complete with minigames!

This is my submission to the 2023 Secret Santa Jam.

Made in Twine, with a minigame made with Kenta Cho's crisp-game-lib

Original story, character, and cover image art by Dr. Seuss.

Hey! I'm the guy that you were the Secret Santa for! Sorry I hadn't played this yet; I was taking a trip right as this jam was ending. Thanks so much for taking the time to make something that fits my letter. I hope you had a good time doing some creative writing, even if it isn't always your thing, haha. It really seems like a  goofy, fun idea that is right up my alley.

Unfortunately, as it is now, I don't seem to be able to play the game all the way through. I get stuck pretty quickly in the passage about the Whos enjoying their noise. I cannot find any way to progress from there. I wonder if it might be a problem with scrolling, making it so that there is some link off-screen I can't get to. Also, the screen I play on is a very small Chromebook, so that probably doesn't help.

Let me know if you can figure this issue out because I would absolutely love to play the game all the way through. It's so cool to know that my stupid little letter sparked the ideas that led you to make this game! Again, thanks so much for making my holiday wishes come true!

Hi! Sorry about that.  I just checked enable-scrollbars so you should be able to scroll down now. You are very welcome and I hope you like it!

Yeah! That fixed it!

Very fun little game. I love the integrated mini-game; it's simple but charming and sort of addictive.  I don't have great reaction time, and after a few tries I was able to get a high score of 95.

Funnily enough, I actually made a Twine game with some little mini-games in it for this jam too! So I'd say you were spot on with the kind of stuff I like, haha.

I'll give you a follow, so I can see if you add more to this (or if you make anything else cool, of course). Happy holidays, or happy new year, or whatever I should be saying now!
